315'S

I have a 4" lift kit and run 315"s. I would not recomend this with a 2 1/2" lift. You would rub alot on dips and off-roading. I still rub on big dips. You could do a little fender trim though!

Hmmm... that's odd. I have heard of a few people with 315's and leveling springs without a problem.

If you think about it... a 315 is only 2" taller than a 265. That means that it only protrudes into the fender 1" more. So you wouid gain at least an inch of clearance with 315's and the 2. 5" lift.

Or am I using the wrong school of thought here?

Parker,

I use a 2" Rancho lift in the front with 315s. I left the rear stock. The weight of the engine brings my 2" lift to about 1. 5". I even shaved a little material off the corners of the fender flare/moldings. This works fine most of the time, but if I happen to turn through a dip just right with a little speed, I will sometimes rub a little. Although it is not bad enough to spend the money to raise the entire truck. As well, with a 2" lift you won't need a any additions to your steering system. This saves a little money as well. Check out my rig in the gallery (cotto's 93).

What size and offset/backspace of rims are those?

I like the look of how the 315's fill up the fenders. If the rancho lift is 2, and levels to 1. 5, hopefully the SJ 2. 5 will end up to 2.

Thanks.

I am interested in this tire size also, and hope there is info out there. The other posibility is to run 305/70 r16 BFG All terrain which list as 33" tall and 12. 2 wide. The 315/75 r16 are 34. 7 tall and 12. 1"wide another chaoice would be to run the 295/75 r16 which list as 33. 2 tall and 11. 5 wide on 8" rims.

I am running the 265/75 r16 tires and they measure between 31 and 32" tall opn the stock 7" rims and can get close on the fromnt while turning, but that is with old work stock springs.

I have 315 70 R17 BFG T/A KO's on an 8" rim with no lift (only about 1. 5-2" between stops and front spring's). It will rub going over a bump turning to the left on the the drivers side front once in a while but it has to be a pretty big bump to do it. You can look at them in my gallery.

I say just get a sawsall and start cutting till they fit.

Well at least that is what I am doing to keep my CG as low as possible. Going to be putting a flatbed on in the next week or so and then trim the front fender/grill to make the front fit 37's.

Hmmm... I was thinking about the 305 also... it kinda depends on the truck and the specific springs.

I'm going to just get leveling springs and go from there.

Thanks guys!

I've got 305/70-16 Procomp AT's with a Skyjacker 2 1/2" front lift and I still needed to trim the plastic molding at the front of the fender, even after doing that if you have the wheel turned to full lock and hit a bump they will rub slightly. There are pics in the Readers Rigs.
