I just noticed that there is an "indefinite restriction" on the 34 gallon fuel tanks. Does that mean you can't order a short bed? Perhaps this is a sign of the end of the 2004 run and something with the gas tank will change for 2005... perhaps due to the introduction of the Contractor Special series... maybe it needs to be smaller to accomodate the hybrid stuff... or maybe they're not changing them at all and they've just run out... just bored and speculating out loud.

The following options are on indefinite restriction

34 Gallon Fuel Tank (NFU)

I like the sound of this. What did they do to get a Contracor Special? I hope it's not just a vinyl interior and pre-dented fenders and tailgates...

They add a 5KW or 10KW generator that also functions as power assist on takeoffs, saving you fuel. A heavy duty hybrid/electric vehicle that doubles as a big fat generator that can run just about anything including welders... hence the contractor name.

Great additions, but it steers it away from my primary needs. If it included a lot of tool and equipment storage compartments in the bed walls or frame I would have been all over it. The generator(s) sound like they would make a great addition on a truck if you have a remote cabin or property where you spend time. I wonder if anyone is already thinking up generator BOMBS?

Perhaps the rumors of a larger crew cab are true and the quad cab goes bye bye necessitiating some size changes.

That would suck! I'd hope they'd keep the QC when the CC is introduced! I don't want a giant tank of a truck. I drove my buddy's F350 LB CC last night and it's like driving a school bus!
