I have a hurt . 030" 340 for sale along with a newly rebuilt SB 727A. The engine dropped a #6 Intake valve on startup of a fresh rebuild. The engine idled (1500 RPM) for approximately 4 minutes before the #6 intake valve head separated from the stem. The #6 cylinder has two approximately 2" cracks in the cylinder wall and the #6 piston is damaged. The engine as it sits right now has the following innards: A stock forged 340 crankshaft with Eagle "H" beam rods and Ross 12. 5:1 domed pistons. The rings are file to fit pieces from Ross. The heads are "J" heads with a mild port and polish. The even bank head has seat damage at the #6 intake seat. The valve train is Comp Cams roller rockers at 1. 5 ratio. The valves are manley stainless 2. 02/1. 60 "nailhead" with 5/16" stems instead of the Mopar 3/8". The cam is a Mopar Performance mechanical Purple Shaft 312/312 590". The oiling system is a Mellings HV unit and I used the stock windage tray and a Moroso 10qt deep pan. I am selling this engine as an oil pan to carb, water pump to tailshaft unit. As such, there are a lot of extra parts to go with the 340. They are as follows: New, never used, 1977 casting W-2 heads with header adapter plates. A set of Hedman Husler headers with 2 tubes each side going through the fenderwell. New 2. 08 MP long intake valves (8), New 2. 02 MP long intake valves (8), new 1. 60 long exhaust valves (8). The valves are still in original boxes. A new set of Diamond Racing valve springs for the long valves. A new set of MP rocker shafts and mechanical W-2 rocker arms. A used MP M-1 single plane intake manifold and a new Indy 360-3 hi-rise single plane for the W-2 heads. A brand new Comp Cam mechanical cam whose specs escape me at this moment. I bought the cam to run with the W-2's and Indy manifold. There are more parts to go with this engine such as a Holley 750 double pumper and two extra crankshafts. I also have the stock 340 rods and they have TRW 10. 5:1 flat top pistons on them. Along with the engine is a new, freshly rebuilt 727A by Schmidt Racing Transmissions in Dickinson, ND. This transmission houses a Turbo-Action reverse pattern fully manual valve body and a ATI 8" convertor (5600 rpm stall).
I have decided to go big block racing. I will separate parts as desired. I am asking $2500 for everything. PM me.
