David,

That's interesting- thanks for the clarification. I just had a similar experience in my 99 XJ with 118k miles (very similar suspension design). I had a DW at 55. I thought for sure, with the miles, that something was tired, but the unit brgs seemd fine as did the ends on all the links etc. My buddy has owned a tire store for yrs (Benton cty tire and wheel in Siloam) so I let him take it to figure out.

They found no worn parts, alignment checked good, no adjustments made. There was an unusual wear pattern (my rotation habits were not frequent enough) and one tire showed signs of cord separation. these were 30k mile bfg all terrains 30x9. 5x15 with 3 ply sidewall. I bought a fresh set of the same size, no name tires (all he had in stock), 2 ply sidewall- problem gone. So like you (If I read it right) I went from a three ply (actual) sidewall to a two ply sidewall and my problems went away. Though my situation had specific issues identified in the tires.

As far as the parking lot steering goes, yea, mine is borderline at times too. the All terrain has a wide tread for it's size, my wheels have less backspacing (more scrub) an their is significant weight on the front axle, courtesy of the Cummins. If the PJ's or any tire made PL steering easier it would be due to the tread width/percentage of contact patch/ void ratio/ and tread compound assuming the same wheel. It's just friction- no magic there.

We'll have to get together some time- I'd like to get a ride and check the Kore out. I'm tempted but tow a GN trailer which would not accomodate a lifted truck very well. If I could go gore an gain no more than an inch it would be great.
