I have been keeping fuel mileage records on my baby so imagine my surprise when I filled up yesterday and got 35 miles per gallon. Well I knew this could not be right even though I have gotten as high as 27. I usually average 23 to 25 but I do admit I have been driving like a granny do get that. By the way that is hand figured. Well, I knew I didn't get get that kind of mileage even as much as I would have wanted to. My trip computer is usually right on the money except when I completely fill the tank to the top of the filler neck and then it's a little bit off. Long story short is... I filled up my tank (yes my baby was on level ground and unloaded) and it took nine gallons. After I remembered where my fuel guage was setting, I knew that it should take more than nine gallons. Comparing what my trip computer told me, my usual fuel mileage, and triple checking all of my past and present mileage figures, I deduced that I had actually pumped about 14 gallons of fuel. The pump was way off. Unfortunately I have yet to get that extra fuel tank I've been wanting but I will go back there again in a few days to fill up again. Anybody with a tanker truck in the Florida area give me a shout... . I have a business proposition for you.
