03 HO and all 04 and up CTD's get the 11. 5" AAM. The 03 SO got the 10. 5" AAM.

My 03 SO/250hp has the 11. 5" AAM rearend so all SO didn't get the 10. 5" AAM,maybe it was the SO/235hp California version that did.

Tony

The SO 2500 got the 10. 5, ALL 3500 got the 11. 5

the 2500 weighs 7000 lbs the 3500 dually weighs in at 8500---there is a difference, the frame is solid hydroformed on the 3500, the 2500 is not. Oo.

I heard here, the 2500's have heaver springs in the back then the 3500 SRW. Thus the 3500 SRW has a better ride. The reason they can do this is because the 3500 SRW has the overload springs which take the load once they come into contact.

Mine also has something that is important to me, "this piece of paper that says it can haul a slide in camper".

The 3500 SRW is rated for a couple more hundred pounds bed weight.

The 3500 SRW with the 6 speed is rated with a GCVW of 23,000 lbs, not sure what the 2500 is.

Plus for that extra money, you don't have to add air bags, extra springs or anything else. Some people elect to add these rubber blocks (forget who sells them) that decrease the space between the helper springs and perches, this stops the truck from dropping so far before the helper springs start to work.

How well does it work? Don't know yet, hoping to take the 5er out in 2 weeks. The pickup camper don't get used until around July.

My 05 has a GVW (sticker) of 9000!!! The truck weighs 7160 with 1/2 tank of fuel and the frame is hydroformed also (04 up are supposed to be)

i dont know what else would make up that difference in weight?

My 05 CTD had a G56, 3. 73 11. 5" rear end. The web site is not updated on 05 models when you build the truck on line so it looks like the 05s did not have the 11. 5" rear end it is apart of the Diesel package.

Where did you get that info??????????

The 2005 builders guide show that a 2500QC LB is with in a few pounds of a 3500 QC lb SRW, The frame are the same.

Both my 04. 5 and 06 2500's have hydroformed frames.

Thanks for the refresher there Bob, I remember that now, I was taking it from NavyDood statement that all SO had the 10. 5 AAM rearends at the time. :D

5. Cab lights

I couldn't justify it knowing I was going to have to put bags on the rear anyway. Plus I personally am not to thrilled with dodge's cab light design.

My 2 cents,
