Well, gang-- the wait is over! After waiting from 12/30/03 until 5:14P EST the truck is here---- well, almost--it was finally built on3/08/04,KZ'ed the same day and traveled by rail from Saltillo to:

Laredo, Houston, New Orleans, Montgomery( where it stalled for four days) and into Atlanta @ 4:11A this morning. I just checked vinvision and it was unloaded @ 5:14P, EST and is on the ground in Lawrenceville, GA. My dealer is having someone ( regional DC person) make arrangements for the dealer to pick up this Friday if I can get away. Yep, you guessed it --- I'm going--- want to guess which vehicle I'm driving back?!! Going to be kinda COOL to put the first break-in miles on the new ride. ( 15/1800 revs in 6Th gear for 2 hours-- per Cummins) Will let you know about the SHAKE DOWN when I get in:D :D :D

Thanks to all of you on TDR who gave info, including PM'S to me,

regarding tracking, ETC. My check list has ten to do"s before drive away---

My Dealer is about to become a TDR member.

Congrats on the new truck! I'm sure you'll like it! Are you getting the rear fender liners and mudflaps right away? I had them put on before I even left the dealer and I don't have the first ding yet but then again I've only got 3600 miles so far in 2 1/2 weeks... Yup, been up and down The Cliffs quite a few times! Hope I'll get to see the new truck soon! - John

p. s. -Next week we will probably up at the Cliffs job where you stopped by last week.

Congrats, Fitasc.

:D

It's good you have a dealer who will do that for you. When I called mine yesterday to see when I might get mine up from Baltimore, he couldn't talk right then, seemed completely disinterested, and STILL hasn't even returned my call.

Let us know how you like it.

hawkeye;

did you get the fender l iners from the dealer? I ordered my truck on 2/25 so aways behind you. keep us posted on milage and any problems or good points to look for. did you check fluid levels and frame plugs? see lots of post concerning this.

Yup, got them at the dealer and gave $80 or so for them installed. Fluid levels were checked and frame has tape but I. m not to concerned about it as long as it stays on. I put my nerfbars on which required removal of four of them, so I proly won't worry about it for now. So far I'm lovin' it!

Shoulda had me put a chip/box on it while it was passing through Laredo ;)

I coulda atleast cut off the muffler for you :D

I flew to Saint Louis and picked mine up from Tomeygunn. Only negative thing I noticed on my 1000 mile trip back to Florida was the sorry hard/small seats and the 13. 5 mpg. Other than that, its great!

Hello "Hawkeye" & Swexlin!!!

Hey, Hawk---- THREE 3rd generation CTD's parked together-- that was a very strong statement to the pfords & other things we see up here! Couple of years ago a contractor was trying to pull a skid steer up the "hill" w/ a LLX---- something quit and I drug his new truck AND load up for him---- I will surely see you guys nxt week-- then we'll talk about my next construction project- DC may want to film our job site--- the more Dodge's I see at a job site, the more I understand folks who appreciate QUALITY!

Swexlin--- your truck is right behind mine--- just hope you don't end up with shrimp & crabs in the drive train! you know what you go through when your "truck" has to float into port!!!

Just kidding--- hope you have an arrival soon--- will it be Baltimore?

JAH:D

Supposedly been in Baltimore since last Thursday, according to Insight. I can't get any info out of my salesman. ETA to dealer 3/31, so, we'll see.

Your truck made good time - you were built almost 3 WEEKS after me. Trains are better for transporting vehicles.
