3500 Being delivered by boat

Talked to my dealer today about delivery of my 03 3500 Laramie to Maryland. He said he got a new delivery code of WK. Called to find out what it meant, he was told that they are shipping my truck from Mexico via a ship. Has anyone heard of this ? There is supposed to be a new contract that is shipping the trucks right to the port of Baltimore. Ordered truck 5/26/03 scheduled to be at Baltimore 7/2/03. Looks like I will not get it until after the 4th of July holiday. Bummer!

Yes, mine came into Pensacola, FL. by ship. Took delivery 11/2/02. Love it!

A couple of years ago, all VW from Mexico, came to the West Coast by Rail. One day the VW rep's show up in San Diego wanting them to all come by Ship. There reasoning was to much damage and theft on rails in Mex. They have been coming by ship for a couple of years and are distributed throughout the west from here.
