This is the truck I will be buying in march. The problem is no dealers seem to get many of these. The largest Dodge Truck dealer in my area (SW Missouri) only gets 2 a year. Almost all of the 3500's they get are QC. I would love to here from any one that owns a 3500 Reg. Cab 4X4 DRW. Mine will be automatic which makes it even harder to find. I know I will end up ordering one, to get what I want. Your experences with this truck would be appreciated. What features would you get and what would you stay away from?

Thanks
Dennis

Dennis, call 1-800-375-less. I think yoiu will be plesantly surprised.

Are you sure you want a regular cab? Quad cabs seem a lot easier to find and hold their resale value a LOT better (learned that one the hard way when I sold my 98). If you plan on keeping it for a long time, then get whatever configuration you want. I love all the extra junk space I have with the quad cab, but to each his own.

The Regular Cab will fit in my garage. The QC won't. I don't want my truck to sit out in the weather all of its life. Hard on Paint etc. Other than that I would go for the QC for the extra room.
Thanks
Dennis

I have already pulled a 2001 reg. cab 4X4 DRW 6 sp into the garage and it fit, even had enough room left for my wifes car #ad

Regarding resale value. When I check the Kelly blue book that all of the dealers use for trade-ins, the difference between the regular cab and QC after 3 years and 60K miles is about the same as the differnce in the original purchase price. Does anyone have any experence with this?

I had a 94 regular cab (that was all they made in the Ram then) and I put it up for sale last year. Had it on the market for four months at a give away price. Had lots of calls on it, but the first two questions they asked was: "Is it a quad cab and is it a 4 X 4. " It wasn't and I had a time gfetting rid of it so I could get my 2000 which is a quad cab 3500 4 X 4 dually. That's my 1/10th Peso

Dennis--I am a first time Ram buyer too. I have had my 3500 4x4 QC Auto since July and I love it. Mine won't fit in the garage either, so it sets outside--but so didn't my '85 D-150 and it was in great shape after 15 years. I am getting 13. 5 mpg in town stop/start traffic--16 mpg highway empty and 11 mpg highway towing anything from 24" enclosed trailer with racecar some 8000#'s to a 16" emclosed "sound equipment" trailer that wieghs about 4000#'s. Its only got 6500 miles on it though. Wife is 5"2' and other than getting in the "Big Rig" she loves driving it around town. Which ever cab type you get, you will really like the truck--its very nice. All my racing buddies make fun of me for having "Heated Seats" but man it sure is nice.

I also did not want the quad cab. I don't care about resale value, just about getting the best configuration for my needs. These are BIG trucks the QC makes them bigger. I would rarely use the QC space and the RC just fits my garage, is easier to park and is better in off road situtations when having to negotiate switchbacks. Five years down the road a truck that is garaged nightly will be in MUCH better condition. I had to special order the RC. It can easily be done by any dealier worth doing business with. Stay away from the ones who try and sway you, they don't care about your needs only getting their commission. I got mine at $99 over invoice at Redwood City Dodge in CA.
