3500 SRW Availability?

I looked at a few new trucks today and asked a few questions about ordering vs. finding one in a dealer network. I'm not 100% sure exactly what I want, but the salesman told me that the Aisin SRW combo is still on order restriction and he didn't know when/if it would be available for '14. I'm still not positive that I am going to buy a SRW, but does anyone have any additional information on the Aisin availability as of today? Not that I don't trust that salesperson, but after the 4th or 5th time of calling it a "Cummings", I tend to get a little nervous.....

I think the Aisin is in short supply even in the DRW trucks. I look at Dave Smith motors and a lot of Texas dealers for someone else and most did not have the Aisin transmission.

Someone really should go to Kingman, Az and buy this truck. Or I am going to have to talk DW into it!

There are only a few in DRW trucks on the lot here locally also (the reason I asked about the G56 in the other thread I started today). Nothing that really is equipped the way I want it.

Last month when we were searching for 2013/2014 trucks throughout the southwestern states and Texas using www.ramtrucks.com, my wife and I found maybe 1/3 of the 3500's had an Aisin transmissions. Most of the 3500's are indeed duallys, but we did find a couple of well equipped 2013 SRW trucks with Aisin transmissions in Texas.

While its not a SRW. It is the Aisin equipped 13 model. I test drove this truck, but opted for a Laramie instead.

Must haves for me are Snow Plow Prep, Crew Cab 8' bed (I would consider a Mega Cab), and I'd like the factory 5th wheel prep. Specifically looking for a well equipped Big Horn or Laramie.

I can only find 2 Aisin equipped SRW trucks anywhere near here. The closest dealer to me here has a SRW 3500 Crew Cab 8' bed in a Tradesman. Nice truck, looked at it yesterday, but I really would prefer something a little more optioned. A dealer in Morgantown WV has a Laramie almost exactly the way I would want it, but it is a 6' bed. The 3rd gens were my first venture in to a short bed truck and I'd like to go back to a long bed this time around.

Again, not saying that I would not consider a DRW, but it is not going to be as functional if/when I am plowing with it.

Sorry it's so far away, however they have 6 2014 3500 4/4's in stock, 5 of which are Aisin equipped. A little farther than Dave Smith, but they do talk down.

I ordered a 14 SRW w/ Aisin at the end of Jan here in S. Jersey. RAM VOTS idicated the build was complete Feb 26 and it would be delivered 7 March. It was not. Dealerexpects it between 23 - 27 March. Getting the Aisin in the SRW at that time was not an issue at all.
