Just bought an '03 3500 DRW 4x4. I go down dirt roads and job sites everyday and the stock slicks are just not cutting it. I asked the tire shop for info on all terrains and they said none were avaolable for the new 17 rims?? Do any of yall have a larger all terain that you are running with stock height truck? I pull pretty heavy loads so they don't need to be slammed togather when empty I dont think.

-Thanks for the info-

BFG 265 70 x 17 AT's but they are not E rated they are D rated . Long as you don't pull heavy trailers and such they will work great. Had them back in F**D days...

To my knowledge, Goodyear, Cooper, and General are the only ones producing tires in the DRW size as of now. I'd look closely at the Coopers.

I don't think going down to 16" rims will work on an 03. That would give you more choices. The other option is going up to 19. 5's. You can get just about any type of commercial truck tire you want. They will ride a lot rougher. The steel belting on commercial tires goes from bead to bead. You don't have to worry about airing up when you put a load in it until you get to around the GVW because the load rating is F (typically 1000# over E's). I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info... . I think i'll just stick with my stock rims and wait a few months for a better selection to come out

When you say heavy towing, how heavy is that. A load range D is usually around 2700#'s per tire (dual). That's plenty. (10,800#'s)

BFG has a few larger tires that you could put on there, but you will have to use a spacer

I pull goosenecks full of broken up concrete. Sometimes a backhoe, so up to #20,000. I have the goodyears on now but are just getting a little sparse on the tread. The coopers look nice since the deer lease is usually muddy.
