03. 5 HO 2500 4x4

Never been in for work.

I was going to have the ECM reflashed. Fuel milage and high idle enabled.

Ball joints and steering box checked.

Door weather strips replaced. (what is the TSB number?)

Serpentine belt chirp. (maybe they will replace)

Have them look at the front rotors, sometimes I have a noise when braking.

Also the strange ovehead temp readings.

On my own dime, I was going to have a front end alignment and trans fluid flushed.

Am I forgeting anything else? Last chance before 36000.

Thanks.

Remember this only works on automatics (didn't mention if you're an automatic or not).

Here's a list of 2003 TSB's.

First of all, the fact that you have the chirp (on shutdown) makes me think you probably have an automatic (hence the high idle will work on your truck). But the shutdown chirp is NOT a problem. Who knows, maybe they'll think it is and give you a new belt. If they do, ask for the old one as a spare.

See if they'll cover the alignment under warranty. You never know.

Remember you still have a 5 yr. 100k engine warranty and a 7/70 powertrain warranty.

Good luck!

Thanks for someone asking the questions and also for the reply. I was just going throuhg the list of TSB's and I was very interested in the one referring to the defrost and floor vents. I took my truck in on the last oil change and asked them to check out why I am not having the floor vents blow out any air but a small amount, but my defrost vents always has a large amount of air being blown through them. It makes sense because I do not have that popping sound when the vents close. Agiain thanks since I am up to 32,000 miles.

I don't see the TSB for the frayed upper door seal.

Just one for a leaking lower.

Edit:

Nevermind, found it in the 04 TSBs.

You might want to check the upgraded window weather strips with felt on the inside part that comes in contact with the inside of the windows. The rubber-only ones trap dust and if you have aftermarket window tinting, it will be scratched by the trapped dust.

The part numbers are #55276895-AD & 55276896-AD. You will need 2 each. I don't know which are for the fronts & the rears. There's no indication on my bill. They were replaaced under warranty.

I don't know if you have clearence lights or not being you have the 2500, but I have noticed all five lens on my truck are cracked. I have not noticed any water leaks and I really can't feel the crack on the outside of the lens, but can see them, like internal an not cracked completely through yet. I was going to see about having them replaced before the 3/36 runs out on mine.

Also I thought the flash for high idle was for 04 up. I would like to have that feature myself, but I believe I'm one of the un-lucky ones with a early 03 build date. :(

I had the window tint TSB done, but they only did the drivers and passenger side doors that had the aftermarket tint on at the time. My understanding it was for all four doors on a quad cab according to the TSB, so am I going to have to get the rear door windows tinted and then scratched up before they will replace with the felt lining. I been thinking about having the back glass and rear door windows tinted darker here lately.

Call Chrysler and a few other dealers and get the best price on the DC 7 year 100k extended warranty. You can still buy it before you leave the factory 3/36k warranty. You will be glad you did. Expect to pay anywhere between $1500 to $2500 depending on the deductable and time of the warranty you are willing to buy. I personally wouldnt leave home without it. Mine has it and I get a first day rental with no deductable. . In my case, it is highly worth it!

If I am not mistaken it is illegal for an OEM veh to be shipped with tinted front door windows. OK for the rear ones. Cops ignore tinted front door windows if the tint isn't too dark (they ignore dark ones too sometimes), but the reason they aren't supposed to be tinted is it inhibits a driver's night and peripheral vision to some extent.

Windows on my truck I had aftermarket tint done at 35% (Texas approved) drivers & passengers door windows. The lack of lining felt caused them to get scratches over time The rear windows can be at 5% in Texas if thats what a person wants. I believe some states will not even let you tint the drivers or passenger side so I can see it being illegal for them to be tinted from the factory. Fact of the matter the TSB states to replace all four doors being a quad cab, my case since the rear door windows had the factory tint no aftermarket tint added they did not replace the felt liners on them, now I'm considering having the rears tinted a little darker than factory tint and will have to go back to the dealership to see if they will replace the liners before the aftermarket tint is applied. Don't know if the will or not since no aftermarket tint is applied, but thats not what the TSB states, my argument if it comes to that. The dealership also replaced my scratched aftermarket tint with a new tint job after replacing the lining felt TSB the first time.
