I have decided to go with a 4 inch Superlift supsension and 35x12. 50x18" tires. I was wondering what tires I could run. I have searched the internet over and have only found two tires: the BFG Mud Terrain and the Nitto Mudgrappler.

I like the Nittos alot, but I was wondering if I had any other options before I made my final decision.

I have the nitto all terrain 325/60/20, and have no complaints. The ride is exceptional and they have a pretty aggressive tread for a all terrain tire. They also come in a 325/65/18 a 35" equivilant. The nitto mud grapplers are very aggressive, I have a friend that says they are not to good on the road, but he will sacrifice that for off road performance...

I will say that they do ride awesome. Rides really good , like i said in another post better than the bfg ta's they replaced. stiffer (less wander) no wobble. They only thing i dont like is the noise.

If that is of concern they the less aggress Nittos ought to be up your alley.

Still these tires rock in snow, ice rain whatever worth every penny if you drive any any of those conditions.

David- I've got the Toyo MT on my 2004. 5 and couldn't be happier. When the BFG ATs on the '96 wear out, Toyo MTs will replace them. If you've been following the T-rex/KORE threads, Kent had a pretty good run on the BAJA 1000 with the Toyos.

Doubleclutch,

How loud are the Toyo's compared to the BFG's? I assume it's much louder than an All terrain tire, but someone posted that the toyo mud tire was as quiet as an all terrain. I find this pretty hard to believe.

Has anyone been able to find the Toyo M/T for less than $350 a tire in size 35/12. 5R18?

Is there an A/T available in 35x12. 5r18? I haven't been able to find an A/T in that size -- they must also fit on an 8. 5 inch rim. The Nitto Mud Grapplers are the most awesome snow/ice/wet tires I've ever had. These things eat snow like it isn't there. But I think I'll go to A/T April thru November -- RVing season -- then the Mud Grapplers November thru April.

Mud Grapplers are noisy -- no surprise there.

When I first put the tires on, I noticed the noise was elevated above the All-Terains (slightly). I had ATs on my Jeep XJ, and they were Louder, with a L). Since then, the windows have been up (rain) and either I've become used to them, or they've quieted down :) . These MS tires are most acceptable. I haven't tried other MS tires, so I'm not throwing rocks at the other brands brought up here, just happy with the new comers.
