We dyno'ed the DD3s in Sickly and yes the 370s made a bit more peak hp. However, the spoolup and mid range power were the same. Frm my experience with 370s and DD6s I think the DD3s might give better in-town mpg than 370s due to no fuel sac. Both run pretty smooth as you folks know already. One set of 370s we tried were soewhat crudded up and sort of loaded up during low rpm acceleration. The Bosch shop checked and cleaned them and they were not bad, just dirty. I suspect the DD3s might not tend to get as dirty in cold weather and in-town operation. Otherwise, pick whatever you want.

The DD injectors are not subject to the problems we have all heard about with extrude honed injectors for a variety of reasons including these: all new critical parts, selection of which parts to start with based on extensive testing, very carefully done honing process, specially selected media and procedures based on extensive experience, talent, and concern about producing the highest quality.

Hand labor is still the best way to get the best work (vs. automation). Not all hand work is equal. Pick your craftsman carefully. My poor old Sickly Ram loves his DD6s #ad

My 370s idle very smoothly. Smoke can be controlled pretty good by playing with the AFC. I found I got less smoke moving my housing all the way forward and then turning the star wheel away from the engine about 30 clicks, vs having the housing in the stock location and moving the star wheel all the way toward the engine. Low end is about the same either way.
