Friend of mine getting an ATS transmission and tc installed. The shop talked him into injectors and fuel plate. The salesman told him that 370's make the engine somewhat harder to start in the winter. I told my friend that was horse hooey because the salesman doesn't offer 370's and wanted my friend to buy his injectors instead. Any merit to his comment???

I have a friend in Ohio that has 370's in a 160pump (94 = 160 right:confused: ) and I haven't heard him complain about hard starting in the winter... and his block heater doesn't even work! :-laf

If I don't "crack" my throttle, my truck will stall out with the 370's. If I cycle the grid heater a couple of times, it is not as bad. If I don't plug it in, I have to do the old balancing act with the throttle, just enough fuel to keep it running without over revving. I could use a good timing check though.

Bad cold start with 370's = HOGWASH!

Dad and I have NEVER had any problems cold starting with the 370's... .

We do have the 'Canadian' 370's... . maybe ours are designed for cold weather. :)

I don't have the grid heaters and my truck starts just fine, it does smoke a lot until it warms up but that is all.

Mine starts real quick all the time even when its real cold. Well cold for Texas anyway is 30 degrees. If it starts a little hard set the idle up a little or give it light throttle and see if it helps.

I never bothered yet to hook up the grid heaters in mine. It starts instantly with 370s if I crack the throttle. 'Course it doesn't get below 30* here hardley ever.
