I have a 95 160hp auto and I just put in a set of 370's, but didn't change the DV'S. I have a couple of new things going on now. first it likes to run real rough around 1100 to 1300 rpm and I lost about 3-4 mpg. would the DV'S make an improvement here. I also have stock 4:10 gears.

What should be done from here? I have guages, and 4" straight exhaust.

Thanks for the input

191 DV's will help clean up the low end stumble. These are what I have in mine, but there might be a better choice now since I changed mine 3 yrs ago.

I personaly would look for at least a 180 pump and upgrade pumps. My cousin messed around with his 160 with 370's for months before he decided to upgrade to a 215 pump. If you look hard enough you can find a good 215 pump for about $600. The little 160 couldn't put out enough fuel for the 370's. My 180 pump i used to have did very well though. Matt

Make sure your timing is bumped up a little. With the added fuel it needs to be injected a little sooner. This will give you back your mpgs also and help with egts too.

I installed 370s and laser cut dvs from Piers about a year ago. I have the same stumble you do and have not been able to get rid of it. I have had the pump off and calibrated so that is not the problem. I'll be following this thread to see what happens.

Jeff

from what i have read on this site so far is that the 160 pump does not give enough fuel but the pump does have enough for the 300's. from a thread i read the other day even different dv's will not solve the problem.

Like i said earlier, if you don't want the stumble you need a bigger pump. We tried big dv's and different timing's, new overflow valve and still never got rid of the stumble. Save yourself the time and money and get a good pump. Matt

Hmmm,

Have you considered that the stumble could be the 370's?

I have a 1994 auto pump with DDIII's and the monster valves in it. Number 6 plate with 400,000 miles on the pump. No roughness at all. Smooth as silk actually. Fuels like a *****, goes sideways in 4th gear Oo.

EGTs are only an issue past 90 when you have it to the floor. ;)

When a 370 owner drove it, he was surprised at how smooth it ran.

Where can I by some 191 DV's and are there any disadvantages to them? I am planning a trip to mexico in april and need to get the old girl ready for it she has 178000 miles and runs strong just these few bugs.

I am new to TDR and am really liking it!!! Thanks for all the input.
