Ive been thinking about swapping some 370s in my 12v. I have the following mods done allready. .

215s

#5 plate

16cm Turbo housing

HX35 turbo

AFC spring kit

BHAF

6" straight piped Stacks

Full guages

Fresh Rebuild on auto transmission

Should the engine hold up with the current mods? or am I walking the thin line to a blown headgasket? Anything I should worry about?

Also, should I run the better DVs? I know everyone does, but money is tighter then ever, and im looking to get an even swap for my 215s. What are the drawbacks to the stock DVs with my mods? Hard Idle?

Thanks much. -Jordan

370s are good cheap horsepower. They would work good for that setup. I would try 191 or laser cut dvs. As far as the headgasket goes, every truck is different. I used to make a peak 54 psi from a stock wh1c. Then changed to a hx40 with more pump work and injectors running a peak of 50psi and never blew the head gasket. Only problem I had was heat

I have 370s, 191s, and a modded wh1c, othewise similar setup. If you're ok using your foot to limit things... DO IT. They get the job done when you need it. No head gasket problems, but I keep it under 40 psi.

ok, right now, im seeing about 38-40psi at WOT, and about 1000* EGT. .

Where is the best place to get some DVs, I was thinking about TST, but Im not sure. . Can you direct me. . lol.

Also, what would be the worst case scenerio if I did not run an upgraded DV right away? what drawbacks? Not saying I would, but im curious.

Thanks

-Jordan

If you are already pushing 38-40 psi of boost I would not add more fuel until you get a wastegated ehaust housing. JMHO.

Are you sure you don't have a 14cm nonwastegated housing on there? I am running a substantial amount more fuel than you and only get 37 PSI peak boost in 5th gear. 4th is like 35 PSI, and so on.

Also is your pyrometer probe after the turbo?
