I am thinking of putting on some 33's/35's,i have 373 gears now with stock tires,would i lose mpg buy going up in a little bit of size city/hwy not towing? Its an auto.

I can only speak to 33's and 3. 73's and an auto. I put the tires on just when blended fuel and ULSD happened almost at the same time. On my last trip out west, I managed just a tad better mileage than the last time I towed an enclosed 4-place at about 15K lbs GCW. So, if you keep real close tabs on fuel mileage calcs and gross the mileage up to reflect true miles covered, then you should end up no worse or better then you are now. A GPS is useful for mph checks. Mine went from 1. 5% high to 3% low, so I didn't get my pinion factor changed. At least that is my initial findings with the tires in my sig. YMMV.

I have 285-70-17's on my '07 and am showing only a 3% difference in the speedo and odometer(going farther and faster) over the 265's it had on it according to the GPS. I don't think 33's will hurt any. Going up to 35's are a different story. I've got the G-56 so 35's without much towing or load carrying would probably be fine for me. I'll be installing a 1700# popup on it soon so the 285's will be appropriate with a stock clutch.

35's will cost you mpg all around. Especially around town with the TC unlocked. And acceleration, towing power.

But they look and ride great.

I put 315-70s on my '03 with 3. 73s and they SUCK, Mileage went from 23ish on the highway to 17 and average around town was always at 19 on the overhead and now its at 15mpg. I just don't have the power to pull them with my stocker. They do look good and the ride is great but... . :{

I have 315-70s on my stock '06 with 373's and 6speed. I feel it smooths out the turbo "snap" that both my wife and I found to be uncomfortable when driving around town empty. Now the acceleration is much smoother. I still feel that power surge when the turbo gets into the groove, but not like the stock tires by any means. Of course this means a bit less torque but for right now, I'm not towing anything, so it's a good ride. Also, my mileage stayed the same when averaging about 5mph faster. I drive by RPM, not MPH and like to keep her just under 2000RPM. With a 2" lift in front, it's a well proportioned look.

Another thing; mytraction is much better. Maybe because of the control with throttle at the RPM range the turbo kicks in, but I don't spin in slippery conditions any more. The ability to air down a little more gives a much smoother feel as well. Everyone I take a ride with, tells me it's the nicest riding truck they've ever been in.

How can you tell the mileage is the same when the speedo is not correct ?

Well sounds to me i have made my mind up, A kore level kit with 33's on stock rims!

sounds good! i was gonna go with 33's but the only ones that were reasonably prices were rated at like 2600lbs each so its was jump to 35's or 285's. did the 285's for a day and the wife decided they were too small. :-laf i didnt argue. heres the tires i got. only have about 6k on them but them seem to be wearing fine.

click on dimention data. 10 ply rated at 3525 each! i couldnt say no at 1k for the set mounted and balanced.

I have had 33's and 35's. The mileage is very similar between stock and 33's. I lost significant mileage with the 35's and they were very hard on the 48re. I wouldn't personally advise 35's with the auto.

I put 35 Toyo MT's on my 06 CTD with auto and truck did not run near as well down low. Mileage was way off due to spedo being off. Added 4. 10's and Smarty and mileage on highway at 65mph is 20 and tuck runs great.

How much for the 4. 10's and where?

Gained 1/2 MPG going from stock to 33s. Probably could've gained another 1/2 going to 35, since mine is a G56, but I didn't want to go there with rubbing being an issue. Went to 18 inch rims, 275/70R18. Kept the truck otherwise stock. Better looking setup than stock. They fill out the wheel wells just right, IMHO.
