37K on 99 Ram 2500 auto/now what?

I have been on your site for a week now and it's the next best thing to buying my new (99 used) Ram. Have 37K on my transmission, whats the best thing I can do for it now? Just change oil or do a full trans service on it. Prior owner never drove it hard nor towed anything. Thanks guys... Bob B.

Bob, do a full service every 30K at the outside. 20K if you tow at the outside. Get the procedure for adjusting the bands from fritz site, after you have done it once it is a piece of cake. I bought a new torque wrench and some other goodies last time and I still came out at about half of what the dealer wants to do it.

Ditto K_Arts post. Bill Kondolay of Diesel Transmission Technology will be able to make your auto. trans. as close to bulletproof as you can reasonably expect. #ad


The severe service interval in my Owners Manual states that trans. service should be done at 15k, normal service at 30k.
