A question for all you RV pullers... I need your input!

Hello all

I notice a few of you have older muscle cars. I would like to know if any have, or have ridden, driven, etc. any with the 380 hp 360 crate motor.
Mainly want to know if this engine is cosidered as daily drivable.
Will go in a 72 Dart (little brothers-there are better cars but it was 50 bucks!)
Considering 3 options:
383 b engine with Schumacher mounts and exhaust
300 hp crate, or 380 crate.
Leaning toward 300 hp for drivability, though I personally would choose 380 or 383 BB fit.
What do you all think?

ZEEEW, I haven't had the opportunity to try one of the great, sorry, crate engine yet. I've still got a couple of steel crank 340s in the shop. However from what I know, if I were building a driver for someone else, I'd go with the 300 HP unit. And having said that,if it were my daily driver, I'd kick myself later if I didn't go with the 380 HP engine.

Youall don't have any extra small bolt pattern (4") rally wheels do ya. Used on 70,71 Dusters, Darts, Demons.

Thanks, Ronnie

I have a friend in Washington who has a 1972-74 (I'm not sure of the year, but he knows) Ford 351 Cleveland 2-bolt main shortblock, brand new, never been used. He wants to sell it, if anyone's interested, they can e-mail me at dodgeram97@earthlink.net and I'll pass the word on to him (he's not on the net).

I know little bro is going to put disc brakes from a larger bolt pattern car on front and go aftermarket rear axles to match so the wheels wont be needed, what I dont know is if they are ralley type or not. Ill see him at the weekly Sunday family breakfast today and ask him.

I personally don`t know of anyone that has a Mopar Performance SB crate engine. What I have read about them has been good. The 380 HP version would pull that A-body around well!. See if it has an 8 3/4 rearend. If its original 318 car it might. If its a slant 6 car, it probably has a 7 1/4. It probably won`t hold up, and will have steep highway gears. If it is a 318 car, engine will bolt up to the trans (probably a 904).

I like the prices on the SB crate engines too.

The HEMI crate engines are BIG Bucks. Those are the ones I`ve been eyeing #ad

come on guys we all know if you are going to build an a body then ya want to put the bb in it. i have a 72 demon that has a 451 inch stroker bb that is very streetable even with the 11-1 pistons(cast iron heads). i used to drive it everyday on the street with 3" exhaust, elephant ears(motor plates), racing rci seats and about every other mod that you can do. it never over heats (late 60's early 70's superbee 4 core radiators are a bolt in for small block radiator. and befor you ask yes it still sees street duty, just not as much now that i have my truck and enclosed to get it to the track, but it does go out on the weekends so the truck can rest.
