3B toyota diesel

Just bought a 82 toyota diesel in a landcruiser. What a slug! Runs like a top, but man is it gutless. Anyone know if the pump can be tirned up on these engines or any other performance enhancements can be done? Thanks, Dean

Yes there is a turbo kit out there but may cost a lot of money. If you are interested the company is located in Australia called AXT. Good luck and happy Cruising

Dean, I have an '82 Toyota Truck with the diesel engine. Make me a offer and come pick this thing up! I just read the thread on a runaway diesel in a mining operation. I had mine idling one day and all of the sudden, it made max R. P. M. I jumped in it and jammed it into high gear and popped the clutch. After a few minutes of catching my breath, I started it up and found a smoke ring coming out of the tail pipe, must have broken a ring or damaged a piston. Trucks been sitting in back yard ever since.

Not a bad motor once it has a hairdryer. My ol mans budd and him slapped one into a Jeep Cherokee and rigged up a turbo from a old grand national. The turb was on its way out but was free so he started plumbing away. I was quite impressed at the way that jeep went on boost. I gotta see if he still has it and if I can get some pics.

Must have had one hell of a loose wastegate



A stock GN turbo will build 20+ lbs boost without a problem!
