Silver Star Lamps

I like them. Definitely a "whiter" light. Since I put the brite box in at the same time its not an apples to apples comparision. Let me use them a few days and I'll let you know what I think. Ken Irwin

Wow, every night I drive I love this thing more and more! Still one thing -- Does anybody know exactly how to adjust how high the headlights aim?

Thanks!!

Installed mine yesterday and tested it on the way home home from a wedding reception. I'm thinking "hope it don't fail after a few barlye pops!" Not to worry, box worked greeat, as soon as I hit the two lane out here in farm country I hit the brights and my wife said "what did you do to your lights?!" I think the extra light is a must have on dark country roads and I know i won't be without it again. Now I have to do something with my wife's Jeep Liberty!!

Bright box delux 03+ review

Installed in less than an hour. The hardest part was locating the boxes. The driver side I zip tied it to the harnes behind the assembly and shoved it back as far as possible. The passenger side I stuck it to the radiator support with the supplied dbl sticky tape.

The box works flawlessly so far. With just the parking lights on, pull back on the stalk, ALL lights come on and go off when let go. With the dial on just low beam, click back the stalk, ALL light stay on till clicked again. With the fog lights added via the dial, click back the stalk and again ALL lights stay on till clicked back to original setting. The Idea is that ANY TIME YOU FLASH/CLICK THE HIGH BEAMS YOU WILL GET 100% OF LIGHT AVAILABLE.

With all filiments lit, the light is definetly wider spread. There is also an upper level of light from the high beams, while retaining the middle and lower levels of cast light from the standard and fog lights respectively. This light is most noticable when on curvey, winding roads with trees. Out on the open highway it is still noticable but the extra peripheral light is less realised, as you are looking much farther ahead. You can preview what the box does by holding your stalk back in the flash position, but it is kind of hard to get a great idea because you dont want to hold it there for very long, and its hard on curvey roads.

I am impressed with how advanced this system is at being able to handle all tasks with very seamless transitions. I have made many switches from hi to low to hi to low to hi ect. and everything works as if it were a stock funtion.

I agree the mounting is what took the longest on my install as well. I drilled a hole and screwed them in place on that hollow channel towards the center of the truck. I wanted to make sure the wires exited the bottom without any chance of it bouncing around and changing, I seem to have bad luck with two way tape!! Mine also works flawlessly just as described above.

Had some rain this morning all the way to work 72 miles and it was heavy. All the lights on I could see better than ever. I don't know why they don't do it this way at the factory. Hell my VW has better lights than the truck until I put the BRITE BOXon and the Silverstars. Just a happy customer. :D

Same here, but it was last night. We had some *REALLY* heavy rain. They helped me see really well compared to before. Same on the other car as you also -- the lights in my wife's Sonata were much brighter than my truck from factory. I love this brite box more and more every time I drive!

I have mine installed and love them. I have the silver star lights and there bright. Going to buy another set for the other truck. Hey Joel, will these work on 1500's. Have had several people ask me but I didn't know.

Deluxe Brite Box Install

You guys that did the install in 15 minutes to 1 hour must be members of Dale Jr's pit crew and it's also obvious you didn't have a beer or two during the install.

It took me about 4 hours but my wife says that's because I'm anal. I used the 3M and added a strip of Outdoor Grade Goop between the 3M strips. The Outdoor Grade Goop is super adhesive, tolerates extreme temps, and remains somewhat pliable. I wrapped all the wire in the corragted plastic tube stuff like the factory wiring. Zip tied and routed neat as a pin.

Did I mention my install was during Hurricanne Francis?

The next install will take me half the time as I will know how and what I'm doing.

THE Deluxe Brite Box is everything Joel claims it to be. This is an awesome bomb Oo. .

For those testing... how does the "flash to pass" function still work? Does it also add in the fogs when you pull back the lever?

Plug got wet

I have not used that but I would think it would put the fog lights on. I was in some heavy rain Saturday morning coming to work and everything work fine. When I was going home last night and dimed my lights I thought they looked bright light the fog lights were on but the fog light switch was off noticed it coming to work this morning so I checked and they were staying on several seconds then they would go off so I pulled it in the building this morning and the plug that connects to the fog light harness had water in it. I blew it out with air and reconnected and they go off now when you dim the lights. I wrapped some electrical tape around the plug and wires and put it in a different place and position so water should not get to it now. When I get home I will put some liquid electrical tape over it too. I think this one should have some shrink tubing around it too. And we don't have any shrink tubing that big here at work either. :-laf but I think I have some at the house.

Why can't there be something similar to the headlight harness made by Casper that draws power directly from the alt/bat and relays to the headlights when power is applied to the circuit from the headlight switch? That unit sells for about $130.

Installed mine a few days ago, so far so good. They do light up the raod and shoulder quite a bit more. Now hopefully I will see Bambi so I don't damage my truck when he jumps out in front of me. Although on the other hand if I crunch my truck I am sure I could get a nice big bumper from Road Armor, Ruenel, ARB, somebody, it would be an easy sell to the boss.

On the drivers side I wire tied it up because the wires were too short to mount to anything. Then the wire to the battery was almost too short.

Flash to pass

"Flash to pass" works great. It's a big irritation when people are crusing in the left lane so I just flick my brights and all the lights turn on except for the turn lights. It really gets your attention and people pull over and let me pass. Oo.

Thanks Clayton.

To those following this thread and want to see what it looks like with this box all you need to do is turn on the low beams and fogs then

click up to high beams at which time the fogs go out but then just pull back on the turn sig lever for the highs, fogs & lows to shine all at once, its pretty impressive. Think I will add this one to my Christmas list!

I have had the Brite Box in for over 3 weeks and it has worked great. It is nice to be able to see better. Took about an hour to install.

My truck has the DRL's on so the flash to pass will still light all the lights but the dims are on all the time.

Any problems

Drove truck some last week to work and it worked great. Let it set several days and drove to work Sat no problems. This morning on way to work dim lights and it took several sec before fogs went off did this several times on way to work. Then several times passenger light would go out and stay off for several seconds and then come back on. I will call them Monday morning about this so I am not saying anymore to I talk to them.

Now that is customer service

Talked to Joel this morning and he said he would send two more out today and for me to return the ones I have now and they will check them out. Lucky me I was the only one with a reported problem. You get use to all that light and if I had to go without it :{
