Hey all, looking for the no fluff guide to putting the newer 4Gen wheels on the 3Gen trucks (SRW). Im concerned about having the open center (spyntecs) and I thought I read something about a backspacing change in the latest models. So in dealing with all the open center wheels, what's the interchange between 3&4 Gens?

03- to 2012 3500 and 2013 for the 2500s have a +44mm offset , once they went to the radius arm front end they went to a +57mm offset and I believe that is when the closed center wheels started as I have not seen a 4link truck with closed center wheels, only radius arm trucks.

With the closed center wheels you have another 1/4" back spacing added. That will impact how wide of a tire you can run, a 295 will rub the control arms where it was the 305 and 315 that rubber with stock 3rd gen wheel. With the spyntech and tire restrictions you are probably better off getting a set of wheels with correct dimensions.
