Installed the 3k springs today. Also did the gov lever adjustment.

Boy, did this ever bring my engine to life. Thought it ran great before, but was I mistaken. The spool up is so much faster, it will get to 30psi boost quick. Have more smoke now than I want, so will start working on that. Think I will center the AFC housing first.

Will probably have egt's to worry about also. Will check on that in a couple of weeks when we pull the wigwam to Ruidoso. It will easily lay a smoke screen now that might have someone calling in on me. I will try to only smoke it when a PSD tries something foolish.

Put the governor lever midway up the first step on my #11 plate. Is this too high?

Also had to raise the base idle. It was only 500 rpms when I finished with the mods. Set it at 800.

Love this truck!!! Oo. :D

Well sounds like you like the 3K's but lets go over the details in your questions.

1. If you are over the nose of the plate with the fuel shut off up then your fine, I raised the arm a bit on a truck the other day to bring the fueling in earlier.

2. The idle should only drop or raise a little bit, if it raises or drops allot then the springs are too tight(raises) or too loose (drops) here is a little tid bit, when you install the springs tighten them till the very first click... . it's light, then go 2 more and try that and see were the idle is and go from there, you might have to put one more click on them but it just depends. If they are too tight you won't like it on cruise control.

Thanks Jim. I am below the first ''peak'' on the plate. May go back and tighten the springs one click, but understand this increases the max rpms. I do not need any more. Will let you know how it goes after a few more adjustments. Boy, does it go!!! where it is now.

Thanks, hsmith
