Do you have a link to the product? I've never heard of this.

I did buy some 3M paint protection film to do my rockers with. The dealer applied a "paint protection" product to the whole truck, and I have to get it off first. He says to use a product called Acrysol which I can't seem to find online.

has any one used the 3m rock guard spray? do you need to paint over it or paint first? thanks

I think what Mike is talking about goes on over the paint. I've seen a 3M product that when applied it's clear and leaves a textured rubbery kind of finish. If I was going to consider anything as a protectant, I'd take a long look at Rhino Lining, I'm pretty sure you can order in any color you want and it be plenty tough!

the 3m spray i was asking about is to spray on flairs and fiberglass running boards i did not know if any one had used this product and if it would work to keep the rocks from damaging the paint. thanks

Parts guy at the auto paint store told me the 3 M rock guard spray is used to get the textured protective surface you see on rockers and wheel wells of many foreign cars. Pretty sure its clear and he said paintable. He cautioned that it is very difficult to remove overspray.

I just sprayed the length of my dually from the part line on the door down to the bottom with a SEM protective coating. It comes in 2 textured flavors and is clear. You can paint over it or get one that you just spray on and leave. These were spray cans at about $18. 00 per can. Easy to use and you can be done in an hour. 3M also has similar products. Contact your auto paint store. The product works great , I color matched mine and clear coated over it like the factory. Good luck.
