I had it installed at "Classic Auto Trim" Denver Colorado $159 They do nice work. Geno's Garage sells a hood kit and other roles of the 3m material under the "New Items" for dodge, If you feel like trying it yourself.

I've had mine on for over a year - still in good shape on the hood. I also had it installed on the rocker panels - has done a good job of protecting the paint but for some reason the edges of the material didn't stick as well down there and are a bit frayed. Still pretty happy with it overall.

I put one of these Scothcal kits on about 3 years ago. It was the precut set that included 8 pieces. 1 piece for each fender, A-pillar, door edge guard, a piece for the top of the cab above the windshield and 1 piece for the top of the hood above the grill.

Took me about 2 1/2 hours to do it all. Required cleaning the truck first, then prepping the area by cleaning with alcohol wipes. Then a soapy spray is used to wet the truck and then the 3m material. A squeegee is then used to force the liquid out from under the film.

It has worked extremely well, not one rock has penetrated the film and most importantly it has not turned yellow. I have a white truck and it would be very noticeable, and I get quite a bit of high altitude sun.

The only snag is that it takes a little extra detailing when polishing the truck in that the paste will get trapped at the edges. It's just a little extra time to something along the film lines to clean out the residue.

Where did you get all the precut pieces? I wouldn't mind trying to do the rest of the areas you did.

Thanks JJ

3M Scotchcal Removel?

Have any of you guys who have used this product ever had to remove it after a year or so? I'd worry that the sun would "cook" it on and it would be tough to get it off.
