Anyone know if there are any high amperage alternators available for the 3rd gen trucks that use the TIPM integrated voltage regulator? I'm looking for something around 200-250A.
FYI you may need a special tool to remove the pully if you want or need to use the stock pully.
Special tool is a 80 splined alternator socket... ...
I spent, 4 hrs looking for one, multiple dealers, and alternator shops didn't even know I needed..... I just by accident ran into a guy who happened to be visiting a buddy at work, who just happend about 2 years prior bought this tool, who just happened to still have it in his truck, who never ever even used it prior to me needed it. It looks like a axle shaft, cut at the splines with a big nut welded on. Or you may be lucky and just have the standard nut and pully.
