Ah, yes, I went and got the manual from the truck and there it is, 350 lbs. It was two pages further on than I had read previously, thanks. That is crappy isn't it?

Yes, it is the pits. I was very disapointed. In order to stay "legal" I will have to replace the factory heavy duty hitch to tow my 7500 pound boat.

All... I saw a hitch bend right down with a car hauler loaded with steel. Gen 3.

Tpappas... I see by your pics that there was not a way to keep the stock receiver... so is wacking it off an option or specific to the hitch you ordered? I have to have two receivers... camper thing. George

Neither the 04' or 05' have ever had any problems with the factory hitch. They see many different trailers between 6-12K lbs. Usually equiptment trailers w/skid steers. I think the hitches are alot stronger than many believe. There are absolutley no cracked welds or signs of fatiuge and I do check them very often just to be safe. I have seen some really overloaded pickups and work vans at some of the job sites and never heard of a factory hitch failing(a 1/2 ton chevy w/ a bobcat863  ).
