I have a 2007 Mega Cab with the center console.
I have added two pairs of 510 Piaa lights, one pair of 240Blitz LightForce lights, a pair of Hella backup lights and a pair of Recon Accessories LED Bed Rail/Cargo Lights to my truck. I am powering all these accessories off a Painless wiring 7-curciut box and using a Contura Switch Body SPST (On-Off, 1 Light, 3 Terminals (Part # 44305)) http://order.waytekwire.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB?WEBEVENT+L0D61F227650905002FF8011+M37+ENG switches sold by Waytek. My problem is in locating a suitable location to mount the switches and retain a high level of finish and fit.
I thought of using the knee bolster, the panel directly under the steering wheel, but found that panel to be reinforced with a steel layer panel behind the plastic cover. There is no room to cut and mount switches. I attempted to disassemble the center console but was unsuccessful in that endeavor.
Where have you mounted your light switches and can you provide photographs of those locations on your 3rd Gen Truck
