Who sells lifting blocks for the rear of 3rd gen. trucks. I want to add a little height to my 3500 4x4 after installing a Tuf Country 2" spacer on the front. The truck looks great most of the time, except when I put the fifth wheel trailer on, or haul a heavy load. It looks kinda hokey when a one ton is sagging in the rear with hardly any load on it.



Any suggestions??? :)
 
I'l look in to it. You could buy an "add a leaf" 1" lift. A single leaf for the rear springs. Are you satisfied with the 2" tuff country spacers? does the truck sit level unloaded? Did you get an alignment? did it effect the steering any or any wheel hop? did you replace the shocks? sorry for all the questions I've got the parts but am hesitant to have them installed for all the reasons above.
 
You can buy 2" blocks from Superlift, that's what I did. You can get the blocks by themselves or a kit with the U-bolts included. They are the same ones used in their 4" lift kit (4" front lift, 2" rear blocks).
 
If your ride height is right where you want it when empty; a good option is airbags. The airbags are relatively cheap; it doesn't start adding up until you want an on-board compressor. With an on-board compressor and in-cab control you'll be looking around $550 to $650 for parts. W/o compressor or in-cab controls I think the airbags are around $90 each.
 
Hey thanks for the input guys! I am very happy with the Tuf Country 2" spacer lift. No alignment is needed. Les Schwab Tires left my stock shocks (said they were o. k. length. ) Ride is unchanged. Steering is still the same. Headlight alignment still needs to be adjusted. Ride height is good; still about half inch or so higher in the back. IMO, today's trucks ride softer than yesterday's; their springs move more when loaded. Even a 1 ton should sit higher in the rear by 1 inch or more in order to compensate for loads.



Some guys like the look of a truly level truck. How many times have you seen a GM lower in the back than in the front with no load on it. Sorry guys, to me that looks lame!



That's why I want a 1 inch lift block for the rear. Then the truck will have about 1. 5 inches of difference for load handling and looks.



Back to the leveling kits, I think you will like it. It is very easy to install. Just drop the front axle enough to allow the spacers to slip in, tighten the three bolts on each side, then you're done! Simple.

Like Big Mak said. Go with Air Bags. I tried the blocks but they caused driveline vibration and axle wrap. I put on fireston airbags and never looked back. You can keep the rear of the truck at the ride height you like no matter how much weight you put in the bed or tow. When loaded up, it actually rides better with the bags than without the bags. Summit racing had the best price I found. I have the 2" blocks if want them for cheep :). Stick with the bags.
 
I felt the same way with my 98. 5. put the leveling kit on and hated the look.

called offroad warehouse and got a 1in add a leaf. perfect.

Thats what I will do to my 03 in the spring.
