I recently purchased a 07 3500 Tradesman with no power windows, locks or mirrors. I am using it to tow a 5th wheel. Problem is, I can handle not having the power windows or locks, but I really
would like to install power towing mirrors.

Any help of the viability of this and what is involved would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

the wiring is already in place. you'll need the power window control switch, and the power windows.
not sure i'd venture down that road.

So I would need to add power windows or could I just get the salvaged mirrors and armrest control switch and leave the power window connection unconnected?

I haven't checked to see about the wiring yet. If it doesn't have it could I just buy aftermarket mirors and run some type of power to them from the electrical?

I have pondered this myself,
someone help us! :D

It seems to me if you only want power mirrors, then buying after market mirrors would be the answer. Kool Vue makes a quality after market power towing mirror. You could then purchase a mirror control switch like the one on my '02 truck (second generation). This switch has a round base about 5/8" in diameter and could easily be mounted in many locations. The switch is a single knob control to operate both mirrors.

I originally had factory power and heated mirrors. I replaced them with Kool Vue power and heated towing mirrors. They have been on the truck for over two years and 60,000 miles. They are still working fine and I wished I had changed them over years earlier!

Just a thought...
