What's the deal with the dual zone climate control?

I couldn't find any option for this on Edmunds.com... . is it standard on everything?... . including the ST's? I definitely like this option.

I don't remember seeing a cluster that looked like this when I was on my test drive... then again... I was too busy smiling/drooling.

What about the navigation system? Is it worth the ~$1. 5k?

Thanks in advance (and sorry if this is a repeat post... ),

Matt

I thought you had to go Laramie to get dual climate, I'm not totaly positive. I went right to the dodge site and priced out what I wanted. I'll be waiting that's for sure...

Dual climate is standard on Laramie and only available on Laramie. It is cool, I have it on my Grand Caravan... but I just could not bring myself to pony up 3K more for the Laramie :)

TPCDrafting isn't the only one who'll be waiting... . Holeshot will be waiting too. I tend to research the living heck out of things before I plunk down the cash... . since this is a lot of cash (in the form of many payments with lots of interest... )... . I'll be spending even more time researching. :)

Crud. I didn't want to go with a Laramie and this option is almost one of those 'must haves'... . in the summer, I like my A/C @ -10°F... the lady likes it @ 70°F. This feature would make both of us happy - and help keep an already quiet cab more quiet.

How 'bout the navigation system? I really like what the imports have done (namely... . Lexus/Toyota... they have awesome setups... ).

Matt

Hey Holeshot just like Robert Bolinger said the dual zone is only available on the Laramie. I felt the same way. I couldn't justify dropping $3k for the options in a Laramie. My 04 was do in late next week, but after talking to Tomeygun last week I ended up reordering through him and got an 04. 5 3500 with cast wheels for the same price I was going to pay for a 2500 with the stock chrome wheels. Tomeygun was great to deal with   Talk to him you might be able to afford a Laramie after all.

Just my 04. 5 cents Jay

Thanks Tomeygun!!! :D

Yep, my '03 dash looks like the photo... Laramie and dual control HVAC. We love it!:D :D :D

My wife and I can set the temps we like. The different temperature settings is very handy when traveling east and west. One of us is in the sunshine and the other is in the shade and we can choose the temp we want and the other isn't either cooking or freezing. When we change drivers, we reverse the settings. The only one that doesn't get the temp they want is the weenie dog sleeping on the back seat!

We will be getting the RB 1 Navigation Radio when we find one at the right price... not the $1500+ list price! It should be easy to change it out with the OEM radio.

Iv'e been looking at the Pioneer navigation system to replace the 6 disc changer in mine. It has a 6. 5in. screen, and an option for a rear view camera that I thought would be great for the fifth wheel.

Stick

Has anyone used/seen the $1500 navigation option? Its more of a curiousity thing more than anything.

Okay, when I get a 3rd Gen... . I'll pony up the bread for the Laramie... . may as well do it right the first time.

Great input on this thread so far!
