3rd Gen wheels on a 2nd Gen??

I know the boltpattern would fit, but how´s the backspacing?

Stock 2nd Gen are 6,5" wide aren´t they, and I read that the 3rd gen Laramie was 8" wide I think.

Are the 1,5" on the inside or the outside, or bunch at bothsides?

I put a set of 17 inch 3G wheels on my 2G, before I went to the 19. 5s. But have a dually so it may not answer your Q.

I put a set on my 98 off of an 05 they fit fine. The wheels sit in a little which is fine they dont sling quite as much junk on the sides.

The second gen trucks with aluminum wheels are the same width as the 3rd gen wheels. My 2001 had aluminum wheels that were 16x8 and now I put the 3rd gen wheels on that are 17x8. If you had the chrome steel wheels on the 2nd gen then you had the 6. 5 wide wheels.

OWiegel they will fit perfectly on your '02 since the backspace is the same . . . go for it
