All right Pit Bull, knock it off, this Forum is for those who were suckered into purchasing a truck without a lamp under the hood... ... Until you know the misery this has caused you just won't understand:D

it's called the 'light group' folks, it was like $100 something... . should have ordered it...

Light Group

Just so you know the light group was not available till around May of 03. So that does leave alot of previous Ram owners in the dark. (pun intended)

I did get one of the light group equipped Rams and feel very fortunate.

The only light I need is the moon reflected off my pearly whites because of the grin I've had on my face since I got the '03:rolleyes: . Great truck and any problem that I've had has been taken care of right away. I love it:D . I have to add that I doubt that many members would keep problems quiet just to make D/C happy and rich or to keep secrets from the "other side" on dieselstop.com ;) .

Dean, I agree 100%. Besides, what problems have shown up, really? Fragile paint - every manufacturer has that problem now. Cracking alternator brackets? Okay, some vendor screwed up. I'm sure there's a few more things people can come up with. "Gosh, it sure takes a long time to fill up my gas tank!" Really, though, we've had nothing at all like the Ford 6. 0 people to complain about. And it's not as if we own something rare - I see more 3G Rams on the street all the time.

Cat...

I hope you are able to get your problems fixed. I am sorry you seem to have so many with the truck. Wish I could help.

I did find a small complaint today:( . My replacement alternator bracket was never painted:eek: . The cast iron is rusty and I looked at a new truck today and that part has a nice paint job on it. If anyone wants to see my rusty bracket, come to see it (and me) at the Woodstock Fair in Woodstock, CT this weekend. My dealer, Bolles Motors here in Union, wanted to show off my truck and I said okay as long as I go with it. The Great Silver Beast has a tent now instead of a garage. Poor baby ;) .

Cat,

For your whistle have you tried 404 or armour all on the rubber seals around the door, Also cleaning the seal area on the door? The door can pinch the seal above the top hinge and make a whistle. Also are the mirrors up or down? is it at speeds above 65mph in gear and out?

It seems now that in the morning it does not whislte only after the truck has heated up in the middle of the day. have not had time to really look at it yet. that is my problem i dont have time to fool with the truck i just want to get in and drive. and that is what i am doing but not without aggravation.

when i get time i am going to try the dollar bill and cleaning and inspecting all gaskets. thanks for the info i have never had this problem before so i would not know where to start thanks CC

you know funny thing that was mentioned is that I had a small piece of gravel one time in my door seal that could not be seen but was causing a whistle just a thought...

I have had two new 2003's since last Oct. the first one needed a new radio knob. Other than that it ran perfectly, until I got hit head on in Feb. The second one I've had since May runs great no reason to take it back to the dealer. I do have the drive line drone, but I think it's normal for the beast. My shifter knob disc used to rotate until I siliconed it in place.

Maybe I'am lucky but I have nothing to complain about. Is the truck perfect? No! DC could have been a little less cheap, wheel well liners etc. But I just think of that nightmare of 87 Ford I once had, and how superior to it my last 3 Dodges have been.

The only serious grip I have is the easy chipping paint, other then that it is an excellent truck in my opinion.

Its too bad you are having this #*%&!!! with your truck.

Steve

I bought one of the last 2002's that was made in (Lago Mexico) that is the plant that DC shut down. Mine was probability made out of left over parts. I've had it 10 months and so far no problems. Fit and finish is top quality. If you think about the number of parts that goes into one of these trucks its a miracle we don't hear about more problems.
