You hit it right on the head Shortshift-different strokes for different folks. I wanted 4. 10's..... had I found my exact truck on the lot with 3. 55's I would not have taken it (like I was gonna find a LWB Sport full-load in Bright Silver anyways  ). You couldn't pry mine out of my cold dead fingers even if I was still running the 265's! :D

Seems its about 50/50

all have made a good point about their particular case. I do intent on drag racing this truck some as well. I normally drive at the double nickel in ohio. I would think the 4:10 would be a help in the 1/4. but I do not wanna be stuck with a slow top speed either. maybe a gear vendor is in order? Do they handle high hp/tq applications?

E7mack96,

Like the other guys said, it is personal preferance, so I'll just give ya one more opinion, I have 315 75 16's tires a 6-speed, a tow just about everyday 5-6,000#'s,my truck weighs 7800#'s,I drive 80mph or so,and drive like a punk kid in the city:rolleyes: I get an all around average of 17mpg ,I have no complaints about my truck being sluggish, 'cause it ain't. I just stared drag racing, and no complaints. I have 3. 55's and wouldn't have anything else. Just my . 02 Good luck in yer decision.

Later, Rob
