2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 4:10 to 3:54?

I know this has been asked a lot,but I need a good idea of what to expect milage wise if I go to 3:54sa from 4:10. 1994 2500,all stock,auto with 285 tires. I can get a da70 for $750. 00 and still have my 4:10 d70 to sell. I get mid 17 mpg now. sorry so long.

I went from 3. 55s to 4. 10s and my mileage didn't change if that gives you an idea.

Never had 4. 10s. But I get 23 MPG unloaded 65-70MPH woth 3. 54 and 285 Toyos M-55s on stock wheels.

I Had 3. 54s went to 4. 10s. I lost maybe . 5-1. 0 MPG. The only thing I didn't like about the 3. 54s was when Towing;Had no power,and always hunting for the right gear. This was with stock truck and 235/75/16 tires. What I did like was I could go over 70mph and not be at 2200rpm. If that helps with anything.
