Hey guys, here I am with another question about my truck. I am thinking of changing the rear-end ratio of my truck from a 4. 10 to a 3. 54. I have a 92 Dodge 250 (Cummings). I mostly drive it on the highways pulling my Airstream. Also, where does my cruise control get its speed reading from? Is it the transmission? I heard that the cruise control can be hooked in to the abs system. Would changing the rear-end ratio affect my cruise control? I guess that's three more questions.

As always, thank you in advance.

I also changed from 4. 10's to 3. 54's. Was real happy with the results. Doesn't affect the cruise control at all. You don't need the 4. 10 unless pulling real heavy loads. I pull a 6,000 travel trailer and it is a piece of cake! The guy I bought the truck from pulled a 12,000# fifth wheel and had trouble getting things rolling so he switched from 3. 54. up to 4. 10. It took it out of the power curve when out of overdrive and that was why I changed back. Also made a slight improvement in fuel mileage. Pulls better now than before.
