I am planning on changing my gears. I am currently running 3. 73's with 37 inch toyos. Every gear place I call is telling me that I need 4. 56 gears. How many of you guys are running 37inch tires with what gears?? I will be doing some towing and of course some racing. I told them I might go to 35inch tires and they still tell me to go with 4. 56's. They say at 70 mph with 37's and 4. 56 gears I will be at 2081 rpm. Any input would be appreciated.

to get back to the "stock" gearing ,,, yeah 4. 56, but after running 37's for a year with the 3. 73 it seems like it's too low. 4. 10 is probly a good compromise for power and economy and theyre cheaper than 4. 56.

What do you mean they are cheaper?? Both places I called said they were the same price no matter which gears I ordered.

theyre's people on here looking to swap 4. 10 for 3. 73 on here some times and not only that the 4. 10 is a bolt in unit and 4. 56 has the spacer for the front that was several hundred dollars more.

there's a set of 3. 73's for sale in the classifieds,,, keep a eye on there and you might find a set of 4. 10's.

I have 4. 10s and 35s,and am very happy in most conditions. For towing or off roading close to perfect. It would be nice to cut the rpm some on a freeway trip empty. If I lived in Bishop, towed and had 37's I would do the 4. 56's

Thanks for the input Bob. I think I am leaning more torwards the 4. 56's. Im just curious what topend speed will be.

I have 4. 10's and 35 inch Toyo's right now and tow a 12-13k toyhauler (loaded) and will possibly be moving up to 15-16k toyhauler (also loaded). I have no computer mods, just intake, exhaust, and gauges. Been tossing around 4. 56's myself. It won't be needed as freeway rig since me and momma both have our own cars for that. What would you guys do?

I would like to find out what the rpm's would be for sure at like 60, 65, 70, 75, and what the final ratio would be with 4. 56 and a 35, like a 4. 18ish or so??? thanks...

If you truly picked up 125 hp,you should start saving for a trans... ... ... . it won't be long.

I wonder what 4. 10's and 4. 56's would do for 1/4 mile times. I would imagine you would launch much better, but do you run out of top end speed with the 4. 56's?

Anyone with 456s w/ 37s? I am in the same boat have been thinking about a change for a long time. How about the guys with an auto 410s and 37s?

KAX injectors are availible from Timberline Dodge in Portland ORE. kaxmotorsports.com I am fully aware of my trans and have been conserned as Ihad a 97 with DTT trans quite frankly the 06 trans is lite years ahead of the 97 I also change fliud every 12 to 15000 miles looks great so far 63000+ injectors in since 21000 Randy
