Cummins, GM and Ford Diesel componet comparison

Ford 6.7L issue in RVNET

Too bad Bachmann dropped out. She was promising $2 gas if elected. The truth is, no one can predict the future price of fuel. It could go lower if the EU goes TU. It could be $10/gallon if we have a dollar crisis or if someone decides to bomb Iran. The only thing that's reasonably certain is that over time, fuel prices will trend upward.

Sad thing is they say it's going to hit 5$ plus within this next yr

Well sure they say that they say that every year right after the holidays dont they? and then it goes up to about 4. 50 or 60 and everyone is happy because it didnt go to 5 dollars. COME ON GUY'S THIS IS NOT NEW :D

CNN was hyping $5. 00 gas by Memorial day. This is useless blather as far as I'm concerned, no one knows for sure as I pointed out in post #81. It's the same BS put out by the MSM over Iran getting a bomb. They've been 6 months away from it for years and years.

Diesel is higher than gas in this country, even though it's cheaper to refine, because every spare gallon is being bought by the Chinese. They will pay what ever it takes to buy petroleum products. The proposed pipe line will do the same for gasoline. Canadian oil will be refined in Houston and shipped to China. Expect to pay another $1 per gallon for that too. This is why Obama is dragging his feet. Is it a national security issue? Should the Chinese be allowed to drive up gasoline and diesel prices to unheard of levels? Our North Dakota oil is also being studied for the Chinese market. It's a heck of a deal for the oil industry, but what about you?

I toured our local coal burning power plant yesterday. Our tour guide mentioned that China is looking to buy coal from us as well. He said expect to pay another 30% or more for electricity in the next couple of years.

Gee another 30 percent of NONE IS STILL NONE. :-laf:-laf:-laf

I wouldn't buy that hype about the 30% cost increase on coal-generated power. The amount that China wants to buy is a small fraction of what we already use domestically. The future cost of electricity will be driven much more by the cost of emissions compliance than the cost of the fuel itself.

Those that have protected union jobs where no transgression is great enough to warrant dismissal or live in the states heavily influenced (dominated?) by labor union politics have no understanding of what it means for a company, any company, that sells a product or service to grow their markets. You can be selfishly concerned only with what you pay at the pump.

It means nothing to the manufacturer or producer who buys his products and IT SHOULD NOT. Expanding his markets means he sells more products and is able to maintain his profitability. This allows him to pay more corporate and personal income taxes, employ more employees, pay them decent wages, invest in expansion which means more raw materials (profits for others), more equipment and buildings (profits for manufacturing and construction companies and workers), hire more people (more wages paid out into his community or communities), and put money aside in investments or bank accounts which allows lenders to lend to others. All of these individual acts and more are what creates and grows our corporations, our citizen standard of living, and our economy.

Look beyond yourself, behating. You are unimportant. The American economy is important to each and every one of us and the oil refineries in Houston and Port Arthur, TX spread money throughout the economy for the good of all.

Nobama is a short-sighted leftist fool at best or our enemy at worst. He either has no understanding or his goal is to destroy our economy and our nation. You can pick which one.
