I have the Skyjacker with no complaints. If you do go Skyjacker, spend the extra $$ for the Nitro shocks and the rear leaf replacements. Worth the money IMO.

I know Rancho has just come out with a lift for our 3rd Gens, but I haven't seen one as of yet.

You'll here it from all the Kore, Carli, and Lorenz buyers, and those brands are excellent, but running 60+ down dirt roads wasn't my goal. I just wanted something a little taller than what they offered and the Skyjacker has worked very well. The overall street performance is vastly improved over stock too.

None of the 3+ lifts are cheap, but you have to pay to playOo.

I have a 5inch pro comp lift and it keeps all your factory suspension, but lifts the rear with a block and the front with a coil spacer with the adjustable shocks. I like it but i'm taking it off to go taller, also mine is all powder coated.

I considered the Pro-Comp, but when I installed the lift I was pushing 60k and wasn't sure if there might have been any spring sag from re-using the OEM springs with the kit. I have a 6" Pro Comp on my wife's '04 Silverado and it has been bulletproof. They advertise that re-using the OEM springs (on the Dodge kit) is a plus, but I just don't see it as a sellling point. Sure the ride remains relatively unchanged, but a 5" spring spacer? I probably would have went Pro Comp if they sold the kit with some decent lift coils.

The stock coil springs are ok. but it depends what you want to do with the truck. For me I need something a little beefier that can handle a diesel engine pounding down on the suspension when off-road. The rear utilized a 3-inch block, the stock leafs can with hold a pretty good amount of weight I can have my bed loaded with a quad and firewood and pull a 32 ft weekend warrior and it doesn't sag to bad. But air bags definately couldn't hurt. I also have a skyjacker on my 96 and I like it, but the only problem I had was the stock track bar, but I replaced it with the skyjacker one and the thing is bulletproof now. I just replaced all the shocks with rs9000s.

lift

I have the 4. 5" lift from revtek (revtek.com) and i like the ride and stance of the lift. I run 35" tires. I mostly run my rig on the highway and trips to pismo beach camping on the beach. I pull a 38ft toy box i had to put air bags in the rear. After 5000 miles the rear seemed to look about 1" lower than the front. So i assume after i were to pull my toy box a few times the rear would definately sag more than the inch when unloaded. After installing the air bag setup i run 20lbs in them to level the truck. And the rear seems to ride smoother than before without bags. I live about 1 hour north of bakersfeild. If your ever over this way call or email me maybe we can meet so you can see my rig if the lift is something your interested in seeing in person. 559-805-4149

Darn this is still a hard choice? Why cant there just be a good one for a good price lol Will i want to get the shocks for my steering? I dont want any wobble!!! Just want to run some 35's and be safe!

I would recommend you purchase a good stabilizer. The Defiant kit is an excellent (expensive) choice. I have the Skyjacker dual setup and it has worked great, but it hangs a little low if your doing any serious off-road stuff.

The greatest contributor to "death wobble" is due to the drag link and track bar NOT being exactly parallel. If they are not, you WILL have death wobble. Steering stabilizers don't really cure death wobble, they mask it at times. They do however, help keep the steering wheel from jerking (bump steer) over the rough stuff. Death wobble and bump steer are 2 totally different problems. A lot of guys just run a single stabilizers, even with 37's and have no problems.

Ya it is a hard choice, I always have a problem deciding on a lift, I'm in the same situation right now. I have the pro-comp 5-inch but for what I do with the truck, its not the right lift. I want a coil over conversion but not sure which one to go with. I guess what it comes down to is what you want to do with the truck, how high you want to go, and how much you want to spend.

Most of the 4. 5-5" lifts end up sitting at the same height as my 3" Carli after they have a few miles on them. I would just save a little longer and get a system that will handle better not just sit higher initially.
