Stuck my truck!

Diesel in 2nd gen Durango

Not sure but it may depend on the application it was used in and also the model year.

I used to operate a 15 ton crane and a 100 ton travellift that had 4-71's and as usual for those Detroit's they were loud.

I've been told the rule of thumb on inline 71s is 35 HP and 100 FP torque per hole, that would be 140 HP and 400 FP. My book only lists 6-71s and 6V-71s, the 6-71s range from 201/552 to 260/751. I would think the 4-71s would come in several different ratings also.

The naturally aspirated 6-71 is 238 HP. I forget the torque.

I operate a machine that has a 4-53 in it and it it 120hp. But I also agree with Rosco it depends on the application. I have seen a 2-71 in a B20 Bucyrus Erie Cable Backhoe. Cutest little green engine I ever saw.

A member of my car club races a toyota cab with a 4-71 mounted behind the cab at Bonneville. It is Turboed inter-cooled blown and after-cooled. He claims 675 hp. Only problem is it keeps melting pistons.
