posted this over in the 2nd gen forum cuz i figured that alot more of them would be using the product, but since they are not saying anything thought i might as well ask over here too...

whos brake works the best and which method of activation is preferred?

(more like which method works the quickest and or lasts the longest_

thanks

For actuation, I'd prefer the vacuum actuated, spring release. That way, if you lose vacuum, you can still go about your day, with the brake released.

As for brand, I think most 4" inlines are similar in quality and design. I'd get one without the hole in the butterfly, and install the 60lb valve springs.

the us gear brake has the waste gate thingy (kinda like two brakes in one) and claims you dont need to change springs

the stock springs i have here are over 70# at what i believe to be the installed ht

why do you need to change springs?

The way I understand it, the stock springs are good for about 35# back pressure and the 60# are good for 60# back pressure. I don't think the "60#" springs have any thing to do with seat pressure of the spring/valve.

I have an older 5" Pac brake that is the inline style, air operated with standard springs. It works good. Then I have a turbo mount Pac brake, also the older style, vacuum powered, it works good too. Also using the standard springs. Then I have a BD turbo mount on the O1' it has the 60# springs and works the best, however that is because of the back pressure setting, it holds back better and at lower rpm's
