4bt Variants

Yes it sounds crazy but if I can get 70 hp per hole I will still be over stock h. p.

I have 70 hp per hole in my 6 why not in a 4bta.

Reason for wanting to do it is fuel economy.

Would the 4bta bolt into the same place and would my flywheel fit?

Would the 4 valve version be able to talk to my truck enough to make the gauges work?

Could a smarty be made to work on a 4bta?

Would 24 valve performance injectors work?

How difficult of a swap?

Yeah, I'd like to see someone do an ISB4 swap... been waiting to see how HoleshotHolset's Jeep is coming, but I think he's still working on his house. :-laf I think it's a good idea, it'll just be interesting to see how to get the little Cummins ECM to communicate with the PCM and the gauge cluster.

You should be an Engineer!

If Dodge were to listen they would turn the auto industry upside down.

Would you like to Dodge which gets 30mpg and still does most everything any of them do now; here is how.

Use 1500 as a base, the lighter the better.

Install the 4 clyinder, yes they can produce 50 hp per hole or like 200 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque stock. All of the gas drive train will live with this amount of tq and hp, so no updates would be needed.

A 2 wheel drive would weigh around 5000 lbs. and get as good/better than many small cars!

My 2500 4x4 is about 9000 lbs rolling down the road and gets about 20 mpg without pulling anything. If I could put in on a diet and weigh half; what a deal! It would sure get a lot better mpg!!!

Mans best plans!

nv 4500 4bt

Yes the 4bt and the nv4500 will bolt right up. I know of an 83 jeep Pick Up 4x4 that is getting in the low 30's with a 4bt and nv4500 with tranfer case and transmission from a 95 dodge 3500.

I am collecting the parts to drop an izuzu npr 3. 9tdi into an 86 CJ7. Hoping to beat his Low to mid 30's with high 30's low 40's MPG :D

MMeir, about 250 to 275 lbs less

the big increase is in milage

ok so the 4500 will bolt up to the 4bt

will the 4bt fit the motor mounts of the 6bt and will it bolt up in the same place?

Too bad the communist EPA would never let this fly. Rules are different for vehicles lighter than the 2500's.

DC did put a diesel in the Liberty. I read somewhere that DC puts the diesel in the PT cruiser and a few other models over in Europe. They are working on a diesel for the 1500 for 2009 just has ford and toyota are.
