Help!! My nephew has a 2005 3500 Dually that had a new injector put in about two months ago. Then another one on Friday(4/28/06)THEN on Saturday (4/29/06) ALL injectors went out!!! The Dodge dealer we took it to told us we would have to pay out of pocket for this repair or if we didn't it would void warranty. It has 37000 miles and if we took it to the dealership we got it from or took it from the present location the warranty would be in jeopardy also. Have you had any complaints concerning the injectors on the 2005. It is 4x4, 6 speed dually. Any feedback would be helpful.

is your nephew running a pressure box on his truck? Edge EZ or Quadzilla? If so that could be a definite reason for cracking them. I think the dealerships are wise to this now which would make sense as to why they would deny fixing it on warranty.

If it were me, I would find a different dealer. Often times they say its an injector when its a CP3. I took mine in to a local Denver dealer when it was stock and they said it had 4 bad injectors. I took it to a different local dealer and they put a CP3 on the truck and it was fixed.

If he has no pressure type fueling mods he should tell the dealer to fix the damn thing or expect a lawyerly foot in the A**. He should also keep ALL receipts and have a written/dated record of all verbal and written correspondence with the dealer.

However if he has pressure a box, he should plan on getting a different/non-dealer opinion and spending some $$$.

Some part of the story is missing here. One injector might crack, or possibly two, but if all the injectors are "bad" there is something causing it. Over pressure or contamination is the most likely cause. I would start with a fuel sample from the filter housing, then run the return flow checks. Ask them what the rail pressure is when trying to start it, and if it starts what is the pressure at idle.

Did they block off the injectors one at a time to diagnose?
