I just put 4" exaust on my truck and it seems to have lost a little power. I had 3" straight pipe before. The new kit came with a glasspack style muffler that I installed and what I was wondering if you think the larger exaust hurt it or could it be the muffler.

I don't think you muffler would be the problem as long as you bought a true diesel exhaust system from a reputable source.

Where do you live? At what elevation? I can remember one TDR member, K_Arts, claiming a loss of HP after the 4" install but he was at elevation and I think that played a role in it. Also that was a 24v, us 12v guys have a little more bottom end adjustability.

Just out of curiousity, when was the last time you adjusted your valves?

I am in florida so elevation should not be the question. I made a muffler delete pipe and that did not do it, besides that I dont think I could handle the noise on long trips towing even though it sounded GOOD. I have owned the truck for about a year and have not adjusted the valves yet, I dont think they have ever been done(160k).
