this came from Kenny Taylor, i understand he works for Holset and posted this in a thread in the competition forum. i dont know if you all were aware of this but thought it belonged here.

"Another item of interest, if you have an 03-early04 Dodge with the HY turbo and 3" exhaust (stock) you can use part number 4035657 to go to a full 4" from the turbo. This is the exhaust elbow for the 04. 5 - 05 Cummins 600. It is available from any Holset Distributor as well. "

Do you have a way of contacting Kenny Taylor? I would like to get

compressor maps for the two diff. turbos.

Thanks,

Carl

What turbos are you referring to?

If you are referring to the Super40 and Pro52 someone posted the maps on here a week or so ago.

We put on a few exhaust-brakes here on 04. 5-05 models, and so I put the elbow off that truck on my 03 --- It was a bit of a hassle, But I know it did not hurt EGTS, so why not?? -- Keep in mind you have to order an 04. 5 downpipe, and it is a HUGE pipe!!

I have one on my work bench with clamp ;) - FWIW

i HAVE A FEW

so Tom... can you get any part 20% over cost? I'd like to keep a spare lift pump on board :)

Dave

Sure can :D

Just call me on any weekday (not tuesdays, I'm off) - And I can check pricing and availability - Heck I can check pricing any time from any computer if you have the part # :):)

Cooker,

I have been looking for the compressor maps for the 03/04 HE341 (new HY35's) and for the 04. 5/05 turbos (HE351CW's ? - not sure of the model#s). With these and a couple of quick calcs, we could come to an answer on what the max reasonable boost should be for these turbos before they turn into air heaters.

Tommygun,

How much for a 4" downpipe??

Carl

I'm wanting to say $52. 25 (cost) - So add 20% -- So a total of $62. 7 plus about $13 for a clamp of that size

52121285AA - clamp

52121600AA - pipe

(please check part numbers before ordering)

Those part numbers are correct for the clamp and downtube. The list price I quoted is the suggested list that Chrysler shows. Most dealers charge more, because their pricing is based off a matrix of cost plus a certain percentage of markup. Every dealer is free to charge what they want for a part.

I must rant for a bit... Chrysler, service contract companies, and insurance contract companies can dictate what we sell parts for. It makes sense. Some pay more, some pay less than others. The maintenance contracts that we have to deal with pay a flat rate per job, parts and labor, which is less than the dealer cost. Sitting here at work, on a saturday, we are doing about 20 maintenance contract oil changes. Not much else because we have a small staff on saturdays. The parts guys work on commission (thats me), so guess who has to pay the difference when everything gets sold below cost? Yup, I have to pay the dealer to work on a saturday.

With that said, there are dealers out there flat out ripping people off, and others like Tomeygun, helping fellow members out. These forums are the best thing for steering people in the right direction and helping everyone get the best deal.
