Jennetty does great exhaust work.

Check out his website. I have had mine for about three months.

Extremely satisfied.

Go 4 it

Save your money. Unless you HAVE to have that performance sound, at least. A 4" exhaust should yield 0-0. 0 hp, and do little if anything to lowering your egts which I would bet aren't a problem with your set up anyway. It will sound nice, though. Just my 2 cents.

I've said it before.....

Diesel Dynamics 4in. is the one. I've got one and am very satisfied. Lower EGTs was the goal. The great sound was a bonus.

thanks guys for your input , I have to replace my tailpipe before the next inspection, so I might as well kill the cat and up the size at the same time.

Dave

I had my pump turned up and bigger injectors installed but stayed with the stock exhaust and air cleaner. It ran 500 empty post turbo and 1000 loaded on a 8% grade. One change at a time and i ended up with 4 inch turbo back with a AH1141 fleetguard with custom box and shield over turbo. Seat of the pants driving is 100% better and the EGT at 70 empty is now 375 on level ground. Also it makes almost no smoke when you nail it at low boost now. Stock exhaust the smoke it made at low boost looked like that of an old dump trk, not good for a new diesel. Wish i had gone to 4inch from the get go. Richard 98 3500 12 valve P. S the turbo psi now is 29, new and stock it was 26

Champspa, do what you will but if I were you, I'd throw in a set of 370's or DDII's and still save around $100-200 bucks over the addition of a 4" exhaust. Talk about a seat of the pants feel;)! Heck, after the added fuel provided by the injectors, you'd most likely end up with an HX-40 and would by necessity need the 4" exhaust. Get it then. There are lots of ways to spend $400. 00 dollars or more on your truck, and for that amount you can make some nice smoke. The exhaust will yield the worst performance to dollar ratio of any mod.

I had the local Alta muffler pull the cat, replace it and on back with 4" aluminized and an allied muffler. Total cost parts and labor $258. I gained a solid 2lb boost and lowered egt by 175-200 deg. I only get a little puff of smoke now too instead of looking like mosquito abatement. I consider the performance benefits worth the expense, then theres the sound:D When I upgrade turbo and injectors I will go with the 4" downpipe too, for now I'm very pleased.

I'm glad trailmonster is pleased with the modifications to his exhaust, however, I must point something out. Could the performance gain ( marginal boost increase and lower EGTs') be a result of possibly the cat having been plugged? Chances are pretty good that it was, especially if that #11 plate was installed while the cat was still on the truck. I had my truck straight piped before I upgraded my turbo and had to get the 4" system. It sounded awesome, but there was no performance gain that I could tell if you count a drop of maybe 50 degrees EGT an improvement. It's your money, but I wouldn't do an exhaust mod until you have at least 300-350hp. Remove the cat, yes, but other than that put the money into fueling so that later you will have a real need to upgrade the exhaust. Remember that your HX-35 has a 3" outlet, not a 4" outlet.
