I have a few 4-inch exhaust questions.
Here’s what I might be getting Monday if I pull the trigger. A welding/fabrication buddy has a hot deal for me. He has been installing lots of exhausts on F**** and Dura**** so I think he knows what he is doing. He is willing to install a 4-inch aluminized exhaust from turbo to tip. It is mandrel bent, welded, (drilled and tapped for my yet to be installed EGT probe), with a 5 inch tip with no muffler. He’s willing to trade me a couple of kegs of my top quality micro-brewed beer for the whole exhaust deal installed. I know it's a good deal but I still am a little worried. Anything I need to watch out for or ask him before I do this?
My questions are... .
I did some searching and have seen most folks on TDR say a 4-inch exhaust does not void a warranty?
Has anyone’s warranty been voided for only a non-stock exhaust? My only other mod is a BHAF.
I currently have 65,000+ miles on my 2001 and will likely pass 100,000 in about a year (by fall of 2004). I have only had my 2001 in to the dealer once for a new lift pump and injection pump which where covered under warranty at 41,000 miles.
Will anyone notice and care I that I have a non-stock exhaust cops, feds, smoke police like the emissions folks here in Colorado.
Will I see any notice increase in noise, power, mileage, or smoke?
Thanks
