Got a first gen 4X4 and can't find a kit for 4" exhaust:mad:. Does anybody know anyone in the midwest that can and WILL mandrel bend 4" pipe for my truck. If I find the people to do it my dad and brother want it too!! Please help!

Haven't seen one advertised, but remember someone posting about a shop that did a 4" for him on a 1st gen 4x4. Don't know if it was mandrel bent though. I'm thinking he had it done in Colorado??

I may be wrong, but I could have sworn I'd read about there being clearance problems with 4" exhaust on a 1st gen.

Same here, Midnite, but someone had it done by a shop, because I remember him saying that he had it done even though it was thought to be not possible.

MMiller - have you searched the site? I know someone has 4", but can't remember who. Maybe he'll read this thread and reply.

It's me, I've got 4" on my truck. A friend here in Montrose CO did it for me in probably May of last year. Still no leaks and no rattles. PM me and I can fill you in. Mine is the second 4" kit he has done on a 1st gen 4wd.

I'M BUILDING A 4" SYSTEM FOR MINE NOW. I BOUGHT ALL THE MANDREL BENDS AND PIPE NEEDED SO I COULD BUILD A 4" DOWNPIPE, ON BACK TO 5" STACKS.

I GO WHEELING ALL OVER. MOSTLY NATURAL BRIDGE AND LIVINGSTON IN KY, BUT I ALSO GO TO HASPIN FREQUENTLY AND HAVE BEEN TO THE BADLANDS SEVERAL TIMES. LAST SEPTEMBER I VENTURED OUT TO MOAB, UTAH..... THAT WAS AWESOME. WHAT KIND OF WHEELING ARE YOU INTO?

Seane - Ever run Troy's trail at the Badlands? That's the kind of wheelin' I like. :D :D That trail is basically Jeep abuse! But that's what it's built for. Badlands is only an hour's drive for me, so that's where I go most. A group of us goes to Haspin every year on Halloween. Haspin is my favorite place to ride the dirt bike. Also go to the Land Between the Lakes (Turkey Bay OHV park in KY) over Memorial day. Would like to head out west too sometime. I'm getting my truck, trailer and camper geared up for longer trips like that.

Where did you come across that 4BT in your Jeep? Been thinking of a swap like that. I bet the 4BT Cummins could easily make torque similar to my 454. I hear they came in GM box trucks, so I'm thinking I should be able to get one that would bolt right up to my current Chevy drivetrain.

Oo. Oo. Oo.

I'VE NEVER RUN THAT TRAIL, ACTUALLY I'VE ONLY HAD MY RAPTOR AT THE BADLANDS. WE SNUCK OVER TO CHECK OUT THE JEEP SECTION BUT DIDN'T GET TO SEE MUCH. A FEW OF US WANT TO MAKE A TRIP OVER THERE WITH THE JEEPS TO CHECK IT OUT. I ALSO WANT TO CHECK OUT THE LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES, I'VE HEARD ITS PRETTY COOL. MY 4BT CAME OUT OF A FRITO LAY, GRUMANN BODY TRUCK. I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER FRITO LAY TRUCK WITH A 4BT, CHEVY ADAPTOR AND SM465 4-SPEED. STOCK THESE ENGINES HAVE 330 LBS OF TORQUE, AND I SAW ONE BOMBED LIKE MINE IN AN OLD JEEP WAGONEER THAT HAD 500 LBS OF TORQUE AT THE REAR WHEELS. WE'LL HAVE TO DO SOME WHEELING SOMETIME.

4BT

Yeah, you should try the Badlands with your Jeep. There is a big variety of terrain. Let me know if ya want to hook up out there sometime.

Do you know what a 4BT weighs? What should I have to pay for one with an adapter for Chevy? Sounds interesting... :D

If your coming to Livingston, KY, your are in the same county as me. They call it Cromer Ridge. I live in Laurel county. I would like to get up with you next time and look at your jeep. I was thinking about a 4BT in mine but I just traded mine off yesterday for a horse. Oh well.

I'LL YELL AT YOU NEXT TIME I HEAD OUT TO THE BADLANDS. I THINK THE 4BT WEIGHS ABOUT 650-700 LBS. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY HEAVIER THAN MY OLD STRAIGHT SIX.

SMOKER

A FEW OF US ARE GOING TO LIVINGSTON THIS WEEKEND. MAYBE I'LL SEE YOU DOWN THERE, YOU CAN'T MISS IT, IT'S BIG, BLUE AND RATTLES ALOT.
