are there any advantages or disadvanteges to go to 4 inch straight pipe. any hp or torque loss or gain

There are definitley power and temperature gains to be had by upgrading to a 4" pipe on a high performance truck. Whether you go to a straight pipe or a straight through louvered muffler is your choice. I like my muffler, quiets things down while cruising, still gives that throaty growl down low and you can drop a tennis ball through it
